Glass Slipper: Ballerina Flats

Who here loves shoes as much as I do?! I’m definitely a little bit of a shoe hoarder, but on those days when I need to get out the door fast (which is almost every day!), flats are my go-to. Lately I’ve been seeing all these cute flats that look JUST like ballet shoes
. Don’t worry though; you don’t need to know how to dance en pointeto pull off these fabulous flats.

I did a little research, and modern ballet flats were actually invented back in 1956. The French actress Brigitte Bardot (who was also a classically trained ballerina) asked her ballet shoe maker Rose Repetto to make her a regular shoe that was as comfortable as a dance slipper. Ballet slippers had existed for a while, but she brought them out of the dance studio and on to the street.
